How to activate Airtel Nigeria mobile internet - NaGSM

Airtel Nigeria offers mobile internet service and this allows you to be able to access the worldwide web with your mobile. In order to be able to do this, here are what you would need for a start:

- A GSM mobile phone like Nokia or Motorola
- An Airtel sim card (Zain and celtel cards will also work since it has been bought by Airtel)
- At least N100 airtime credit
- The gprs configurations settings.

If you have most of the above, the one that woould be most needed are the gprs settings which you can setup manually or get Airtel customer care to set it up for you.

To set up gprs manually for an Airtel powered mobile phone, here is what you will need to do.

If it is a Nokia phone:
Go to settings click on connection settings
- Enter a name for the connection e.g. Airtel gprs
- Enter access point as wap.ng.airtel.com
- Go to bearer and enter username and password as wap
- Set up the home page as http://airtellive.com although you can use any other home page
- Enter the port number as 8080 or 9201 for wap

Now with Airtel GPRS as your default setup, you can start accessing the mobile web
