If you are on an MTN Nigeria blackberry plan for instance and want to migrate to the blackberry plan of another network e.g. Etisalat, Glo or Airtel, this is quite possible and all you have to do is make use of the number porting service.

Number porting allows gsm subscribers to migrate from one network to another by simply switching from their old network to a new network. You can do the same for a blackberry plan assuming you want to change network plans by porting and then sending the BB activation request depending on the blackberry plan they want to subscribe to.

In Nigeria, there are already a large number of Blackberry plan subscribers who use networks like MTN, Glo, Airtel and Etisalat on their devices. These networks do have a lot of plans based on weekly, monthly or quarterly periods.

Let me give an example blackberry plan switch. If for instance you are on the MTN BlS quarterly plan and want to migrate to Etisalat's Blackberry complete plan, you can do this if it is your first time by simply doing a number porting and then subscribing to the BIS plan on your new preferred network. You can also do the same when switching from an Etisalat Blackberry plan to the one for MTN.

If it your second time for migrating to blackberry plans across networks, you would have to wait 90 days after your first switch or porting as those are the rules now for porting.

The benefits of using a blackberry intenet service on your network are numerous such as free email service, online chatting, social networking, file transfers, and internet downloads
